Pattison to run again for Morinville Council seat

Morinville – Councillor David Pattison has announced he will run in the October election to retain his seat on Council. Pattison, who works in planning and development in the private sector and has lived in Morinville for 22 years, was first elected to Council in 2010 with 812 votes, taking fifth slot out of a field of 10 candidates.

Pattison said he was prompted to run again by feedback from the public. “People have said run again. They like what I’ve done. They’ve liked what I said. They’ve liked the positions I’ve taken,” Pattison said… […]

Morinville Traffic Safety Bylaw passes second reading

Morinville – A new bylaw that will consolidate existing rules while adding a number more made it a little further to becoming Town of Morinville law Jan. 8. Council gave unanimous second reading to the new Traffic Safety Bylaw.

Morinville – Deputy Mayor Paul Krauskopf had some harsh words for Champion Petfoods President and CEO Frank Burdzy Tuesday night, urging the head of the local manufacturing plant to return to Morinville Town Council in January of 2011 with some concrete solutions on what the plant was doing to mitigate the smell emanating from its stacks.

Morinville elects its six councillors

Morinville – Voters went to the polls Monday to choose six of 10 candidates to serve on Morinville Town Council for the next three years. After Morinville’s mayor and council were acclaimed last election, voters were pleased to not only have an election this time but also 10 candidates to choose from. The last time Morinville had an election was 2004, during which two candidates ran for mayor and six for council.
