Assault suspect sought in Gibbons

Gibbons – RCMP are looking for witnesses who may have seen an assault that took place on Lunnan Drive Tuesday evening. At approximately 5:30 p.m. a homeowner was assaulted on the street while attempting to enter his parked vehicle. The assailant was not known to the victim, but is described as a male in his late teens to early 20s.

RCMP report the suspect approached the victim from behind, yelled at him catching the man off guard, and proceeded to assault him. Although the victim offered up defence, he received several injuries, including several lacerations to his arms and chest from the assailant’s pocket knife.

The suspect is described as a white male with brown hair, approximately five-foot-eight in height and weighing approximately 160 pounds. At the time of the suspect’s flight from the scene he was wearing a black t-shirt, which had been torn in the struggle.

Morinville RCMP are asking that any witnesses come forward, and anyone with information regarding the suspect’s identity or the reason for the attack to please call the detachment at 780-939-4550 or Crime Stoppers at 1-8000-222-8477.
