Morinville – A motorcyclist was transported to an Edmonton hospital by STARS air ambulance Monday night after crashing his bike on Villeneuve Road.
Corporal Jason Zazulak said the collision took place around 7:30 p.m. Sept. 6 on Highway 633 near Range Road 263.
“[It was] on Highway 633 just at the simultaneous train trestle and river crossing,” Zazulak said, adding the collision closed the highway for a couple of hours.
What remains less certain to investigators at this point is the cause of last night’s collision.
“Our initial indications are that it’s a single vehicle accident, a motorcycle that for whatever reason may have lost control,” Zazulak said. “We’re still investigating the matter. So we haven’t ruled out speed or alcohol as a factor. There’s some more leg work that we have to do.”
The name of the motorcycle rider and information about his current condition has not been released by RCMP.
