Morinville – The Morinville Food Bank Society benefited from the generosity of the Morinville & District Chamber of Commerce, Servus Credit Union and Alliance Pipeline Tuesday morning. The three community-minded organizations and businesses put their monies together to provide the food bank with $1,025 to stock its shelves, particularly with items suitable for student lunches.

The Chamber got the ball rolling at their annual golf tournament Sept. 10, collecting approximately $325 in food donations. Servus Credit Union and Alliance Pipeline stepped up to the plate to match the funds. Each local business presented a cheque for $350.

The food bank, located in the Midstream Society Thrift Shop recently acquired society status and is now officially known as the Morinville Food Bank Society.

Those wishing to donate to the food bank can do so at Sobeys, No Frills or at the food bank’s 101 Street location. Anyone wishing to mail a donation to the Morinville Food Bank Society can address it to Box 3151 – Morinville, AB – T8R 1S1.
