Public All-Candidates Forum set for Wednesday night

Morinville – With five days left until Election Day, candidates will have one more opportunity to gather together to address the public and to answer their questions.

An All-Candidates Forum will take place at Smith Music on 100 Street Wednesday night, beginning at 8 p.m. The event is being co-sponsored by MorinvilleNews.com, Smith Music and the Morinville Volunteer Fire Department and will be moderated by Smith Music owner Paul Smith.

All 15 mayoral, council and school trustee candidates have announced their intentions of coming to the forum or sending their agent on their behalf to make their campaign pitches and answer resident’s concerns.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. and the forum will begin sharply at 8 p.m.

Below is the tentative agenda for the evening’s event.

  1. I would like to thank all the candidates for their time tonight. I had asked the question about the Capital Agricultural/Recreational Facility
    Development Program (http://www.sturgeoncounty.ab.ca/LinkClick.aspx?fileticket=Fp7j5WcqjG4%3d&tabid=114) that Sturgeon County has offered it’s communities for use in it’s recreational and leisure centers, ear-marked for $250,000.

    I would like to thank the Mayor for committing to finally apply for this money. Although this is not the 1/3 share he was hoping for, it’s still better than not having 1/4 of a million dollars.
