Gibbons – A knock on the door from three individuals seeking help resulted in a Gibbons homeowner being assaulted last August. RCMP are now turning to the public for help in solving the crime.

On Aug. 25 at around 10:30 p.m. three males in the late teens or early twenties forced their way into a family residence in Gibbons. RCMP report the males made no attempt to disguise themselves as the used the ploy of asking the homeowner for help, forcing their way into the residence once the door was opened.

One of the three suspects struck the male homeowner with a blunt weapon in the head and continued to struggle with him, as one of the other suspects struck him in the back with another blunt weapon. The three suspects stated they were looking for the money and drugs. Two of the suspects then searched the residence in the presence of the female homeowner and two young children. An adult female relative was also in the residence during the event.

The suspects fled in a dark coloured SUV that was parked a few houses away from the scene of the crime.

RCMP Investigators determine the offenders targeted the wrong residence and the affected family has no criminal affiliations.
