Morinville – It’s not every day that a group of three year olds are allowed close access to a cougar, but students at Morinville Tiny Tots soon found out Tuesday afternoon that this cougar had no fur or whiskers. Rather, the cougar was a large military vehicle that once trained soldiers in the skills needed to operate tanks.

Morinville / Legal – Given three options for two school trustees on the ballot, Morinville voters elected Lauri-Ann Turnbull and Noreen Radford to the Greater St. Albert Catholic Region Division 29 school board with 930 and 906 votes, respectively, leaving candidate Heather Thiessen with 850 votes to try again in another three years.

Morinville – Voters went to the polls Monday to choose six of 10 candidates to serve on Morinville Town Council for the next three years. After Morinville’s mayor and council were acclaimed last election, voters were pleased to not only have an election this time but also 10 candidates to choose from. The last time Morinville had an election was 2004, during which two candidates ran for mayor and six for council.
