I was sitting on my neighbour’s porch a couple weeks ago having a chat. Naturally, the topic of the election came up and I learned that she had never voted in her entire life. The conversation drifted on to other topics, but about a week ago I was back on the porch having a coffee and asked her what she was doing Oct. 18.

Morinville – It was a solemn mood in the Jets’ dressing room after Sunday afternoon’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Strathcona Bruins. The Jets have lost their last four contests – their last victory was on Oct. 1 when the club pulled away from a 5-0 deficit to defeat the St. Albert Merchants 6-5.

Morinville – Candidates were out over the weekend using a variety of methods to get their message out. Individual candidates went door to door, jogged through the streets in campaign t-shirts, stood on the side of the road playing air guitar and one used telephone auto diallers to mechanically make their pitch.
