Vanier school invites community to read

Morinville – École Georges P. Vanier School students had the opportunity to hear a Halloween story and hear about the readers’ jobs in the community last week.

The school held its Community Read-In Week Oct. 25 – 29. Guests read the book a Scaredy Cat Splat to students and answered student questions about the speaker’s profession.

Vanier Principal Marlene Pelletier said the school had a variety of guests from the community, including representatives from Royal Bank. Corporal Chantelle Mailloux from the Morinville RCMP, Natasha Dupuis – a 911 dispatcher, Char Parrent from the Flower Stop, Anita Nelson from Sandstone Enviro-Waste, Leanne Larocque, librarian from Georges H. Primeau School, Sobeys Manager Kirk Kozakewich, Jeremy Herd from the Town of Morinville and Elizabeth Chevalier from High Street Interiors / Home Furniture.
