Morinville – The Morinville United Church will be hosting Morinville mezzo-soprano Krista Lessard and accompanist Shalee Konojacki this weekend for O Holy Night, an evening of Christmas Favourites.
Dale Metcalfe, a past chair of the Morinville United Church board, said he was approached by Lessard to put on a charity concert and recommended that the Morinville Food Bank Society as a worthy local charity to help.
“Morinville United is always interested in doing anything that helps the needy in Morinville and so we’re donating our space and some time to help her put the evening on,” Metcalfe said, adding admission to the Lessard concert is free but cash donations will be collected for the food bank as well as non-perishable food items if people prefer.
The concert takes place Dec. 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Morinville United Church, located at 9610 Morinville Drive. For more information on the event call 780-939-5888.
