The store, located in the Community Corner Drop In on 101 Street, provides parents who are struggling to find a way to provide their children with Christmas gifts a way to do so.

County could face 6.2 per cent tax increase

Sturgeon County – The County’s proposed 2011 budget ended up very close to where it began when three full days of budget deliberations closed Friday afternoon. Originally suggested as a 6.1 per cent tax increase when the initial discussions began Nov. 19; the final proposed figures ended up at 6.2 per cent at the end of discussions Dec. 3. The tax increase had rose as high at 10.24 per cent during Council’s discussions of next year’s budget, but was trimmed back down Friday.

Five Morinville men charged in drug investigation

Morinville – RCMP have charged five Morinville men as part of a large drug investigation that resulted in 153 criminal charges being laid in cities and towns surrounding Edmonton.

Morinville RCMP have charged 28-year-old Joshua Prokopchuk with two counts of trafficking cocaine, one count of trafficking marihuana, one count of trafficking ecstasy and one count of trafficking ketamine.
