Two arrested in connection with pharmacy robbery

St. Albert – An adult and youth have been arrested in connection to an attempted armed robbery of the Morinville Guardian Drugs Jan. 19 and the armed robbery of the Health Select Pharmacy in St. Albert the same day. The two men were arrested Friday without incident as the result of a joint operation between Strathcona RCMP, Camrose Police Service and St. Albert.

Anthony Morgan Watson, 20, of Sherwood Park is charged with robbery, attempted robbery contrary, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous, two counts of wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence and three counts of breach of recognizance.

Watson also faces further investigation and charges from Camrose Police Service. Watson has no previous criminal record and is scheduled to appear in St. Albert Provincial Court on Jan. 31.

The 15-tear-old male youth is also from Sherwood Park and can not be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He is charged with robbery, attempted robbery contrary, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous and two counts of wearing a disguise with intent to commit an offence. The youth does not have any previous criminal record is scheduled to appear in St. Albert Youth Court on Feb. 1.
