There were 10 categories in the first round of Joe Morinville awards ranging from most effective municipal politician to the best place to buy a pizza. Ballots were included in the Apr. 11 edition of Monday Morning News and at the MorinvilleNews.com / Monday Morning News booth at the Morinville & District Chamber of Commerce Share the Secret Trade Show over the Apr. 15 weekend.

“We were really pleased with the response to the first batch of Joe Morinvilles,” said MorinvilleNews.com / Monday Morning News Editor Stephen Dafoe, adding the awards will run again this fall. “The idea behind the Joe Morinville Award is to have the community recognize excellence within the community.
