Iron Warriors come to town
The Iron Warriors Foundation hit the pavement Apr. 23 for their second annual fundraising duathlon in Morinville. The Ice Breaker Duathlon took place at the Ray McDonald Sport Centre Saturday, combining two 2.5-kilometre runs around Morinville with a 15-km bike ride up and down Highway 642.

Proceeds from the fundraising duathlon are to be split between cancer research, the organization principle charity and funding paratriathletes.

Amounts raised at Saturday’s duathlon were not available by press deadline.

Easter Egg Hunt

Children and parents took advantage of warm weather to come out for the sixth annual Community Easter Egg Hunt Saturday, once again held at the Cardiff Agriplex. Muddy conditions did not deter children from plodding their way to find eggs scattered indoors and outdoors, including 100 golden eggs in honour of Morinville’s centennial. The Town of Morinville contributed $2,500 to the event through its centennial grant program.

Children converted their found eggs for toys and other goodies at the end of the event.
