St. Albert – The Greater St. Albert Catholic Regional Division was one of four Alberta school divisions to win the Premier’s Award for School Board Innovation and Excellence.

The award recognizes boards for their role in launching innovative programs and initiatives that enhance student achievement.

GSACRD won the award for engaging staff and measuring how they feel about what they receive from work, what they give at work, if an employee feels he/she belongs and whether the employee is pleases with his / her growth and learning.

The program began in 2008 with the belief that staff who are psychologically and emotionally attached would be better educators.

The $3,000 award is sponsored by Xerox and was presented to the division Apr. 20.

  1. Editor’s note: We will not be publishing comments that discredit this award on the basis of the current secular school issue. There are more than enough articles on the secular issue in our news archive to place comments on that issue. There will be others as the story continues to develop.

  2. Congratulations GSACRD! It’s comforting to know that my kids attend a school where the teachers are being rewarded for their hard work. Keep it up.
