Morinville – After a highly successful season that included provincial victory, the Morinville Road Runners are looking to come back to the courts with even more enthusiastic basketball players. A registration night was held June 14 at Vanier School, but will continue on towards basketball start up this fall.

Spearheaded by local chiropractor Serge Froment and other dedicated basketball coaches, the Morinville Road Runners offers Morinville and area youth another sport to excel at while providing youth with an opportunity to build the confidence, cooperation and camaraderie that sport provides.

With an emphasis on game fundamentals and fair play, the Road Runners offer three levels of game play: minis (8-10), bantam (11-12), and midgets (13-14). Although predominantly populated by girls, the Road Runners are hoping to field a couple boys teams this season.

Teams play from October to March with one practise per week in Morinville and one game per week in Edmonton. Registration costs $250 per child for the season and covers league registration, referee fees, practice time, team building nights, year-end party and team photo.
