Morinville – Country rested in Morinville Thursday night with the arrival of country / rock band Jo Hikk, the third of a series of five concerts to rock the new Community Cultural Centre during St. Jean Baptiste Festival week.
From the moment the doors opened, it was all country, all the time – with servers and staff dressed in country attire and a special guest appearance by the Six Shooters, a group of authentic-looking western actors.

Opening for Jo Hikk was Big Mike with Kixxin, an act that is certainly worthy to headline any show. The opening salvo lasted for 45 minutes of high energy country that would appeal to even those who are not fans of country music.

Jo Hikk’s performance offered a mix of the band’s original material with perennial country rock favourites, dressed up with a touch of Hikk. The four-piece band is composed of Kelly Sitter on lead vocals and bass guitar, his brother Kenny on vocals and guitar, drummer Al Doell and Don Jorgensen on keyboards and mandolin.

The band’s original 1996 album Ride was re-released two years ago, and followed up with their second release called The Game last year.
