Jets dominate West Division
The Morinville Jets defeated the Wetaskiwin Icemen 7-3 Sunday. The road game victory extends the Junior B club’s winning streak to five consecutive games, and brought the Jets record to 10-2-1.
With 21 points this season, the Jets are sitting in top spot in the CJHL’s West Division, five points ahead of the Spruce Grove Regals who have played one less game this season than the Jets. The Jets are tied with the Sherwood Park Knights for second place in the league overall, three points behind the Edmonton Royals.
The Jets have two home games this week: Tuesday night against the 7-4-1 Beverly Warriors, and Sunday night against the 2-9-1 North Edmonton Red Wings. Game time for the Nov. 1 matchup is 8:30. Game time for the Nov. 6 contest is 6:45 p.m.
Vipers one for two over weekend
The Legal Vipers played two games over the weekend: a home ice contest against Slave Lake Friday night and a road game to Rocky Mountain House Saturday night. The Vipers were defeated 5-1 at home Friday night and won 4-2 the following night. The weekend’s win and loss bring the Vipers’ record to 2-2-1 so far this season.
The Vipers take to the road this Saturday for a rematch against the 2-0-0 Slave Lake Winterhawks. The club’s next home game is Nov. 12 when the Vipers take on the league-leading Drayton Valley Wildcats.
