Busy weekend for Morinville RCMP

Morinville – Crime in Morinville was plentiful over the weekend. RCMP reported Monday morning they responded to a commercial break and enter and another incident of vandalism in town.

At approximately 4:30 a.m. Saturday morning police responded to a break and enter and theft at the Subway restaurant located on 100 Street in Morinville. Subsequent police investigation revealed unknown individual(s) gained entry into the restaurant sometime between midnight and 4 a.m. and stole an undisclosed amount of money.

The RCMP Forensic unit attended the scene.

Mischief in Morinville

Sometime early Sunday morning unknown individuals tossed two children’s bikes in the Centennial Fountain in St. Jean Baptiste Park, causing damage to the fountain. Police believe the bikes to have been purchased at a yard sale as a tag was observed on both bikes.

Police say they are still looking for the owner of the two bikes and for the individual(s) responsible for the damage of the fountain.

Morinville RCMP are asking the public for help in solving these crimes. Anyone in the area of 100 Street and 95 Avenue in Morinville between the hours of midnight and 4 a.m. June 2nd and saw something suspicious is asked to call the Morinville RCMP at 780-939-4520 or Crime stoppers 1-800-222-8477.
