With this year’s festival wrapped up, the festival committee and I need to extend a huge thank you for the amazing support we received from Town Council and Administration. An extra thank you to the public works people who worked alongside us – not only as workers but like a big family that pulled together to make an amazing festival. It was clear that everyone cared about doing what was best for the community and giving festival attendees an experience to remember.
Business sponsorship is a massive component to make this festival work and businesses came from all over town with their sleeves rolled up ready to pitch in with cash, workers and hosting events.
With a parade of well over 100 floats, Friday evening midway wrist bands selling out, and record crowds to the Town Council breakfast, I think it is clear that this festival has become a mainstay in Morinville. I believe the success of the Loverboy and Canyon Rose concerts, Force Pro Wrestling and Servus Credit Union Aerial Circus shows the residents of Morinville have the will and know how to bring a city-sized festival to a town of 8,000.
And of course, none of this would be possible without the volunteers. We cannot thank you enough for all you did.
