Jets announce top two coaching spots

By Morinville News Staff

Morinville – After three seasons with the Morinville Jets, Head Coach Scott Rodda announced he was stepping down, his time with the team ending on a high note first-place division finish last season.

President Brent Melville announced his coaching staff last week. Taking to the bench this season will be Head Coach James Kryskow and Assistant Coach Kim Edworthy.

Kryskow was born and raised in Morinville and played for the Morinville Jets as a 15/16 year old. The 50-year-old coach returns to the bench almost two decades after coaching the team for the first time. Kryskow, who played Junior A in Winkler, Manitoba is the brother of former NHL player Dave Kryskow.

Edworthy was also born and raised in Morinville and, like Kryskow, is a former Morinville Jet. He has been involved in minor hockey coaching for the last 12 years.

Melville said three others, yet to be named, join Kyskow and Edworthy as part of the coaching staff.
