Weekend in photos

Web of fun
Georges H. Primeau School student Breyanna Randell was a spider on the wall Friday afternoon. Twenty-three teams each taped one of their group to the wall. The timed event involved a lot of duct tape and plenty of thinking where to best place the tape. The team whose spider clung to the wall the longest was the winning team. Friday marked the final day of a week of Halloween-themed events. – Lucie Roy Photo

Quilts for a cause
Shelley Faganello, Cindy Johnston, Lynda Truhn and Alberta MacAulay of the Loose Threads Library Quilt Program present Linda Krauskopf of the Region 6 Alberta Foster Parent Association with 17 Care Quilts. The craftswomen have been working on the quilts for many months and have chosen the Foster Parents Association as the recipient this year. Last year quilts were given to Sturgeon Victim Services. – Stephen Dafoe Photo

It a bit of a stew
Centennial Community Gardens President Valerie Loseth checks on the Alpaca stew just before the arrival of more than 100 hungry diners at the 2nd Annual Fall Community Supper held at the United Church Friday night. Proceeds from the dinner portion were donated back to the United Church as a thank you for use of the garden space behind the church. Proceeds from the door prize raffle went to the Community Gardens. – Lucie Roy Photo

Poppy time
3061 1 CER Morinville Army Cadet Sgt Sean Allard spent some time selling poppies Saturday. Since 1921 the poppy has stood as a symbol of Remembrance to Never Forget and to honour the Canadians who have fallen in war and in military operation, paying the ultimate sacrifice. – Lucie Roy Photo
