Sturgeon County – Morinville RCMP were dispatched to a two motor vehicle collision on Highway 37 near Range Road 250 in Sturgeon County Sunday morning around 7 a.m. Upon arrival it was determined that a westbound Ford Taurus had collided with a eastbound Nissan Frontier.
The driver and lone occupant of the westbound vehicle, a 24-year-old female from Edmonton, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the eastbound vehicle, an adult male, was transported to an Edmonton Hospital via ground ambulance.
The collision is still under investigation by the Morinville RCMP. Icy road conditions and fog may have been a factor in this collision.
The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
