Morinville – Sunday night brought home another big win for the Morinville Jets, their second consecutive victory over the league-leading Spruce Grove Regals. Sunday night’s home-ice effort was a 5-2 victory for the Jets and kicked off their post-Christmas return to ice in a strong way.

The Jets ended the opening frame tied 2-2 with the Regals, advanced their tally to 3-2 by the end of the second, and completed the game 5-3. The last four minutes of that final period were shorthanded ones for the Jets.

The victory brings the Jets to a 14-11-0 record this season.

The club has the opportunity to notch out another two points Tuesday night when they take on the Fort Saskatchewan Pyramid Hawks in a home game at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre. Game time is 8:30 p.m.

The Jets have a second home game this week, a 6:45 p.m. match up against the Red Wings Sunday night.

  1. Bad ref, very nasty game. Good thing the league commissioner was there to see it for himself. Gatza and crew should be ashamed of the whole thing.
