Passing the torch
Kelsie Sharun, Morinville’s new youth worker, poses with current youth worker Nick Valcourt Tuesday afternoon, her first day on the job. Sharun joins the Community Services department on a part-time basis. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Human Ecology combined with an education degree, and works as a Project Coordinator with Nature Alberta. Valcourt leaves his post Thursday to begin teaching English in South Korea.

Rehearsing for the show
Kyrsti MacDonald and Joshua Dmytrow spend a little time rehearsing at Higher Grounds Espresso Bar Jan. 29. The musicians will be taking part in the upcoming Morinville Community High School Grad Fundraiser concert. The event takes place at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre at 7 p.m. Feb. 6. Literacy Night
