Primeau Grades 5 to 8 French Immersion students hosted fellow students and staff to a winter festival with outdoor activities, including a number of outdoor activities. The Bonhomme de Neige-Snowman mascot was also on hand for the celebrations. In the afternoon Gilbert Parent and Ian Porteous, both performers with Les Bucherons, were in the gym providing a workshop on square dancing and how to play the spoons. The performers used student volunteers to enact a story of the Voyageurs, helping the students learn a little Canadian history. Teacher and event organizer Travis Hay said this is third year for the French carnival. The event is open to all students as a way of introducing them to French culture.
