Jets and Kings weekend results

Morinville Kings

The Morinville Kings took to the road Saturday and returned with a 5-3 loss to the Edson Ice, the Senior AA club’s first loss in three outings.

The Kings are four games into the North Central Hockey League’s 28-game 2013-2014 season and currently sit with a 2-2-0 record.
They return to home ice this weekend for a Saturday night home game against the (3-1-0) Devon Barons. Game time is 8:30 p.m. at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre. The Kings will follow the home game with a road trip to Westlock Nov. 15 to face the Warriors.

Morinville Jets

The Morinville Jets had two out of town games last week, a Friday night contest against the Beverly Warriors and a Sunday afternoon matchup with the Strathcona Bruins.

Friday night’s resulted in a narrow 6-5 loss to the Warriors. Sunday afternoon’s outing resulted in a 5-2 loss for the Jets.
The weekend’s tally brings the Jets’ record to 5-7-1 this season, and places them in 5th spot in the Capital Junior Hockey League’s West Division, and in 9th place in the league overall.

With 528 minutes in penalties, the Jets top the West Division in sin bin time and rank second in the league for penalty minutes.
The club has one game this week, a Sunday night home game against the visiting (11-1-1) St. Albert Merchants.
Game time is 6:45 p.m. at the Ray McDonald Sports Centre.
