Coats for Kids
Ecole Notre Dame Grade 2 student Logan Turgeon was looking over the large box filled with Coats for Kids last week. The Grade 1 classes are on a mission to collect children’s and adults gently used coats, ski pants, mitts, toques and boots during the month of November. The school is accepting donations until 22 November.

Art on display
Notre Dame School Library Technician Lena Bourgeois was reading over the information on the Alberta Foundation for the Arts Travelling Exhibit titled Portraiture last week. The library currently has more than 18 pieces from 16 artists on display, including one titled Portrait of Marion by Fort MacLeod artist James Nicoll (on wall behind Bourgeois). Bourgeois said students can learn much from the artwork by looking at the art, lines, shapes and colours.

Special award
The Public School Boards Association presented the Morinville Parent delegation, who lobbied for a public school option in the cmmunity, with an award Friday, recognizing “their dedicated advocacy efforts in pursuit of an inclusive education system for children and families of Morinville.” The presentation took place in Edmonton.
