Morinville – It was a busy week of activities in town. Below is some of what our cameras turned their lenses on during the week and through the weekend.

Proud of their pride
Georges H. Primeau Middle School Grade 7 students David Dalton, Ethan Lessard and Jennifer Sinani displayed their Pride Certificates this week. Primeau Pride awards were presented in each respective class Wednesday afternoon, followed by a pep rally in the gym, performance of the Glee Club and the Game Deal or No Deal.

The Pride awards are an acronym for Prepared-Respect-Involved-Decisions- and Excellence-Be Prepared, Respect yourself and others, Get Involved Make good Decisions and Achieve Excellence.

Deck the Hall
The Community Christmas Tree decorating party took place Wednesday night at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre with more than 30 children and adults ready to tackle the pre-lit twelve foot tree. The event included hot chocolate and cookies and lots of decorations to be put in place. – Lucie Roy Photo

Remembering their namesake
Primeau School Principal Allen Menduk poses with students Jordan Hessell, Jordan Imgrund-Harvey and Emily Berard ahead of the Father Primeau Day cakes the school served at lunch Friday. The annual Father Primeau Day celebration included a quiz about Father Primeau that all classes participated in 24 years after his passing. Father Georges Henri Primeau’s legacy lives on in the school’s name, annual recognition award and spirit. – Lucie Roy Photo

Breakfast is served
Knights of Columbus member Auguste Kieser was selling tickets at the breakfast held on Sunday. Proceeds of todays breakfast will be donated to the Philippino Typhoon Haiyan Disaster Relief Fund and will be forwarded to take advantage of the Canadian Government doubling of funds. The next breakfast will be the last Sunday of January 2014. – Lucie Roy Photo
