Editorial: Christmas is coming

The annual Light Up the Night Festival may have come and gone for the year but that is just evidence that the Christmas season is upon us in Morinville. Over the next few weeks we will have the opportunity to gather together within the community and within our circles of friends and families to enjoy the season and what it means to each of us.

There is much happening in the community to take in. School concerts will begin this week, as well as MCHS’ annual play. This year they are putting on Into the Woods from Dec. 10 to 13. But the school play is not the only annual tradition in Morinville. The Community Christmas Celebration will take place at St. Jean Baptiste Church for the 35th consecutive year (Click Here) on Dec. 19, once again unitiing local church groups, singing groups and school choirs in song. Please come out.

Dec. 4 (middle)depicted Santa reading the Nov. 27 issue, and this week’s edition (right) features the Grinch reading the issue with Santa reading the previous one. We’ve got one more cover to go and if you have ever wanted to be on the front page, drop a line to editor@morinvillenews.com by end of day Dec. 12.
