Namao – Sturgeon Composite High School will benefit from a modernization project that will include mechanical and electrical upgrades as well as upgrades to the school interior to meet programming needs and make better use of space. Education Minister Jeff Johnson made the announcement at the school Friday as part of a round of visits the government made to announce Building Alberta funding for schools.

“Under our Building Alberta Plan, we are working hard to make our education system more student centred and responsive to the needs of kids and their communities,” Johnson said in a release on the announcement. “Modern facilities are essential to achieving the goals of Inspiring Education and will help ensure that Alberta’s students receive a world-class education.”

The Sturgeon Composite announcement and one made in Legal regarding École Citadelle, are part of a promise Premier Redford made last spring to modernize 120 schools throughout the province.
