Morinville Public Elementary School held their first head shave event in support of the Annual Hair Massacure Friday and raised $12,161.21 for the cause. Twelve students, two parents, the school Principal and Councillor Stephen Dafoe had their heads shaved for the event before a gynasium packed with parents, family members, students and staff. Edmonton Eskimos Matthew O’Donnell, Nate Coehoorn and Calvin McCarty were among the guests and played some games with students.

Primeau students held the 6th Annual Box Lunch Social, an event where 65 lunches were bought and sold, feeding 234 staff and students. The more than $1,600 raised from the event will be donated to the Hair Massacure. Mrs. Peggy Dugan was hoping they could beat the $1,108 last year. This year the boys made the lunches and the girls did the bidding.
