Morinville – There will be plenty of action bouncing off the ropes this St. Jean Baptiste Festival when Force Pro wrestling comes to town with an afternoon of high-energy sports entertainment. The Morinville News wrestling show will take place in the Ray McDonald Arena June 22 at 2 p.m. and promises two hours of high-flying wrestling action from more than a dozen performers.

This is the fourth year Force Pro has done a show in Morinville. Their first show in the community and as a wrestling company was in Morinville in 2011 at the then recently opened Morinville Community Cultural Centre. Originally promoted by the Morinville News as a stand-alone event, the show has become a staple of the St. Jean Baptiste Festival from 2012 and beyond. The Morinville News sponsors the show in part because of publisher Stephen Dafoe’s memories of attending wrestling shows as a child.

“Growing up I had the opportunity to attend a number of shows at my home town arena, entertaining evenings that put good guy against bad guy and had the fans booing and cheering,” Dafoe said. “It’s a thrill for me to see kids and parents getting right into the show Force Pro puts on purely for their audience.”

Force Pro Wrestling takes place June 22 at 2 p.m. at the arena. Admission is FREE.
