Red Eye Tournament wraps up the season

The 21st Annual Morinville Mixed Slow-Pitch Association (MMSPA) Red Eye Tournament was held in Morinville over the weekend at the Skyline Sports Field Ball Diamonds. MMSPA President Ted Zinnick said 32 teams from across Alberta and as far away as North Saskatchewan participated in the tournament. The tournament started Friday at 7 p.m. and continued throughout the weekend, wrapping up Sunday at 5 p.m.

The Bucks defeated the Bull Dogs from Bowden Sunday afternoon to take the A Division finals.
The B Division winners were the Young Balls who beat out Faces Loaded.
Not shown: C Division was won by Shyt Show, and D was won by the Diamond Devils. E winners were the Pitch Slap and F Division winners were the Diphits.

Jaeda Reaume was one of more than 25 participants at the Volleyball-Basketball Combo Camp on presented by MCHS and Sturgeon County Aug. 19. The week-long camp was held for volleyball players between the ages of 10 and 14. Instructor Jennifer Willows said the yearly event has been held for more than 18 years, and that this year’s attendance is on par with of last year.
