On September 23rd, 2014, at about 8:00 A.M. Morinville RCMP members were dispatched to a collision involving a cyclist and a pick up truck in the town of Morinville.
Independent witnesses stated that the child rode his bicycle onto the sidewalk on 95 Ave in the area of 99 street. The cyclist then road his bike onto the road from behind a parked vehicle and struck the side of a moving pickup that was traveling West on 99 street at low speed. The cyclist, a 7 yr old boy, was transported to hospital for examination with non life threatening injuries.
The matter is still under investigation. Charges are not anticipated at this time.
