Fall Work bee at Community Gardens
On Tuesday night volunteers and members of the Morinville Centennial Community Gardens Society (MCCGS) gathered at Champlain Heights Park and the United Church location to start preparing the public areas of the gardens and tool shed for the winter. Members have till the end of September to clean their own garden plots.

Penny Auction at Aspen
On Tuesday afternoon some of the residents of Aspen House gathered for a Penny Auction. Cathy Benson, Recreation Therapy Aid (RTA) provided those in attendance with 25 pennies each they could use to bid with. The surprise bags included items such as a package of hot chocolate, socks, shampoo, hand and body lotion, chocolate, lip chap, crossword book, words of wisdom on a piece of paper, bracelets and a necklace in one.

The 2nd Annual Fred Scharmann Memorial Hiking Trip with 21 students and teacher Greg Boutestein left Wednesday. The three day hiking is held in the best trails of the Alberta Rockies in Banff National Park.

The Terry Fox challenge was met at Primeau School with over $1500 raised for the Terry Fox Cancer Foundation. Because the goal was met, Principal Allan Menduk had to dress in a tutu and wear a tiara for a day.
