Mustangs corral Jets

by Morinville News Staff

The Morinville Jets suffered an 11-4 loss to the Edmonton Mustangs Wednesday night, bringing the club’s record to 7-3-1 just past the season’s quarter mark.

The club trailed the Mustangs through three periods, falling from a 3-2 deficit at the end of the first period to a 7-4 deficit at the end of the second. That’s where the scoreboard froze for the Jets. Scoreless during the final frame, the Jets offered nothing in response to the Mustang’s four goals.

Wednesday night’s loss elevated the Mustangs to a first place East Division tie with the Jets. The two clubs currently lead the league in points at 15 apiece.

The Jets play at home Sunday night at 6:45 p.m. when they take on the Wetaskiwin Icemen.
