Morinville’s newest business opens May 1 in the former Popular Pooch location. TASER (Toys and Small Engine Repair) Inc. is owned by Marty and Deb Robillard, owners of Technical Automotives.

The Morinville couple’s business will specialize in repairs and modifications to motorcycles, ATVs, snow blowers, lawnmowers and other small engines, as well as bike detailing.

Owner Marty Robillard said the decision to open the new business came out of what he and partner Deb saw as a gap in the business community.

“We found that there was a need for small engine repair in Morinville as well as alignment services,” Marty Robillard said, adding they will be putting in an alignment rack and eventually begin offering our of province inspections.

Partner Deb said the decision was easy when the commercial bay next to their existing business became available.

“We just thought that this would be a very good, viable business for the town — something that is much needed because there really is nothing here,” she said. “We had a lot of people contacting us wanting to know if we did that over at our other business — Technical Automotives.”

In the past the couple had to send clients to the city; however, they will now be able to offer the service in town.
Marty Robillard said the biggest thing the new company is aiming for is a quick turnaround on engine repairs for their customers, particularly for bike riders.

“When you drop it off, we want to get it back to you as quickly as possible,” he said. “We want you on the road, safe and without any worry.”

The business will be open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
