Red Skelton show entertains Legal seniors

skelton5Al Greenwood entertained more than 40 residents and guests at the Chateau Sturgeon Lodge Thursday night with his Reflections of Red: A Tribute to Red Skelton. Favourite Skelton characters included the Two Seagulls, Gertrude and Heathcliff, Clem Kadiddlehopper and Freddie the Freeloader.

The American comedian’s well-loved characters came to life in a comedy routine that pleased the crowd. Greenwood spent time with his audience after the show, posing for pictures and enjoying some refreshments.

Greenwood has been a professional clown for more than 30 years and is the only Canadian that performs as Red Skelton. Residents found Greenwood’s voice and facial expressions to be a close representation of the American comedian whose show ran on television from 1951 to 1971.
