Changing faces at Notre Dame
The 2015-2016 school year at École Notre Dame School will see a number of teachers and staff no longer at the shool. Sheri Crowston is going on maternity leave, Monique Blinston is to be secretary at Legal School, Nadine Trenchard will become a Grade 1 teacher at JJ Nearing School, Janice Black is moving on to become an Educational Assistant at Legal School, Earl Victor is moving to GH Primeau to teach Grade 5, and Judy Matyjanka is also leaving the school. Absent from photo: Mrs. Rice and Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Shymr who is leaving to be a Kindergarten teacher at Vital Grandin School, Mrs. McDougall who will serve as a speech language therapist at various GSACRD Schools, and Mrs. Mah who will be an occupational therapist at various GSACRD Schools.
Retiring are teacher Dolores Ricard and School Office Support worker Marlene Therres. Ricard is retiring after 32 years teaching French Immersion in Vanier and Notre Dame and Therres after 35 years in Vanier and Notre Dame.

Morinville’s Community Development Coordinator Allen Jacobson presented Primeau Vice Principal Christina Mackinnon and students with an Operation Clean Sweep Certificate from PITCH-IN ALBERTA for their participation in the 2015 PITCH-IN CANADA Week event.

Primeau awards its students
Students Carter Fingler, Samantha Luomala and Anastazia Bochar were three of the 10 recipients of the Service Through Active Responsibility (STAR) Award.

Primeau School Principal Allen Menduk presents the Father Primeau Legacy Award to Jenna McKinney. McKinney also received the Grade 8 Honours and STAR Awards.
The presentations took place at the Primeau Spirit Awards held June 24 at the cultural centre with two separate ceremonies: Grade 5 and 6, and Grades 7 and 8 to accommodate the many family, friends and other guests.

Merlin in a tree
Gail Lunger sent us this great photo of a merlin (Falco columbarius), a small species of falcon from the Northern Hemisphere. Lunger took the photo while walking around the Bumper-to-Bumper Show and Shine during SJB Festival.

Prize barrel
Janice Hansuk was the winner in the draw for the rain barrel shown in background. The rain barrel has been at RBC since Blue Water Day, a water concervation awareness initiative. On June 22 – Angie Sweet drew the name with the assistance of RBC employee Gisele Bottomley.
