Bon Accord hires new CAO

Bon Accord has hired a new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The Town’s Council has appointed Laurie Hodge to take on the role.

The Town says Hodge comes to Bon Accord with “an exceptional amount of municipal experience ranging from legislative services; economic development; community services; and taxation and utilities.”

Hodge has a CAO background with municipalities larger and smaller than Bon Accord and has also held positions with not-for-profits and societies. She also served two terms as a public school trustee.

The new CAO says she sees Bon Accord’s proactive development strategies designed over the past few years and dark sky tourism community niche as exciting opportunities.

“Bon Accord is definitely a community to watch,” she said. “There are many exciting aspects coming forward and I hope to work with Administration in achieving Council’s goals. My prior experience and interests should add value as well to ensure Bon Accord continues Building for Tomorrow.”

Hodge was born and raised on a dairy farm in Quebec’s Eastern Township (Cantons de l’est) and moved to Manning, Alberta in 1982. She is married with three children and lives in Westlock.
