Jets fall to Warriors

by Stephen Dafoe

The Morinville Jets fell 5-3 to the Beverly Warriors on the road Wednesday night, giving the club their second loss in a row and a 2-2-0 record this season.

Penalties seemed to cost the Jets dearly in the Sept. 30 game. Three of the Warriors five goals were scored on the power play.

The Jets entered the middle frame trailing 1-0 but evened the score when Tyler Hagel scored a shorthanded goal 55 seconds into the period.

But the Warriors answered back with another pair on the powerplay to pull ahead 3-1.

Lee Gadoury pocketed a shorthanded goal for the Jets with less than three minutes left in the period, but that entry was answered with another pair from the Warriors, one a powerplay goal.

Dylan Stang picked up the Jets final goal of the game while the Warriors were a man short to advance the Jets to a 5-3 deficit, a score that would remain when the buzzer rang.

The Jets take to home ice Friday night to face the Edmonton Royals at 8:30 p.m.
