ASAA North Central Zone Championship took place at MCHS over the weeknd.

The MCHS Junior Varsity Girls took gold.

North Central Sr. Zones will take place in Morinville Nov. 20-21.

The Morinville Jets took on the Red Wings Nov. 4 and came out on the losing side of a 7-3 decision. The Jets trailed the Wings 3-0 after the first and 4-0 after the second. Though the Jets pushed back with three goals in the third frame, the Red Wings piled on another three goals to make it a 7-3 win. The win brought the Jets to a 6-8-0 record this season.

The Jets took on the Stony Plain Flyers Sunday night and lost 4-1. The Jets trailed 3-1 t the end of the first and both teams remained scoreless until Stony pocketed their fourth with 3:01 left in the game. Have of Stony’s tally was on the powerplay. The Jets currently top the West Division in penalty minutes at 473 and sit with a 6-9-0 record.

The club takes to the road Nov. 11 to face the Edmonton Mustangs before returning home to face the Beverly Warriors Nov. 13 at 8:30 p.m. and the Leduc Co-op Riggers Nov. 15. at 6:45 p.m.

The Morinville Senior AA Kings took to the road Saturday night to face the Rocky Rams and returned with a victory. The Kings lead 2-1 at the end of the first, both goals scored on the powerplay. Dalen Paul pocketed another three in the middle frame for a natural hat trick that gave the Kings a 5-1 lead over the Rams. The third period gave the Kings another powerplay goal 15 seconds into the period. The goals piled on with another three by the mid-period mark, including another powerplay and a shorthanded goal.

Leading 9-1, the Kings wrapped up the final 10 minutes with another goal to counter one the Rams earned on a penalty shot. With a 10-2 victory Saturday night, the Kings sit 2-2-1 this season.

The Senior AA club takes to the road Nov. 14 to face Westlock. They play Devon at home Nov. 21.
