Coyote Boys take tournament

The Georges H. Primeau Boys Basketball team took gold in a tournament in Devon Saturday. The Boys won 43-35 over Lakeland Ridge Friday night and advanced to a 53-25 win over Holy Redeemer. The gold medal game put the Coyotes up against Riverview. The Boys won that contest 57-29. Jacob Christensen led with 14 points, followed by Caiden Gulka with 10 points.

Coyote Girls take consolation round

The Coyote Girls hit the road on the weekend for a Devon tournament. The Girls lost Friday night 52-12 to Lakeland Ridge. The Girls also lost 47-27 to Mill Woods Saturday morning before moving on to and move on to a 41-25 win over Namao in the consolation round.

Jr. Boys take third in tournament

Congratulations go out to the Grade 7-9 boys basketball team who finished 3rd at the Fort Christian tournament.
The boys defeated Cloverbar 50-19 in the first game. In their second game the boys lost in OT to Edmonton Christian 52-50. “It was a great game,” said Coach Kent Lessard. The boys defeated Fultonvale 50-17 in the 3rd place game.

Jr. Girls take gold

Morinville Wolves Jr. Girls pulled a repeat as champions in Fort Saskatchewan over the weekend with a gold-medal win.

Kings drop first playoff game by wide margin

The Morinville Kings fell 7-1 to the Tofield Satellites in the opening game of their best-of-five round one playoff series Saturday night. Next game is Jan. 30 in Morinville at 8:30 p.m.

Orijen Sabretooths Midget Girls win

The Orijen Sabretooths Midget Girls won big over SBA in EYBA regular play on the weekend. The girls, may of whom wer eina school tournament in Devon, took time between games to trounce SBA 52-19.
