Wolves Jr. Girls take gold
The MCHS Junior Girls took gold and the Zone Championship on the weekend. After defeating Mayerthorpe 67-20, the Girls moved on to take down R. F. Staples from Westlock 67-36. The Girls defeated Edson in the final game in Whitecourt 59-35.

Wolves Jr. Boys take silver
Here in Morinville, the MCHS Wolves Jr. Boys hosted the North Central 3J/4J Boys Basketball Championships and earned Silver. The Wolves took down the St. Joseph Saints 61-28 in their first game Friday and followed it with a 5-38 win over Edson’s Holy Redeemer in the semi-final. The Boys fell 52-42 in the final to the Parkland Panthers.

Midget AA tournament
The Sturgeon Sting hosted the Midget AA Regional Tournament Mar. 3 to 6 at the Ray McDonald Sports Center. The event drew together the six teams in the NAMHL’s Clean Harbors Division. The Sting defeated the Rangers 4-3 and PAC 6-2. Final tournament results were not available by our press deadline.
