MPS Carnival this weekend

The Morinville Public School Grounds will once again host the annual Morinville Public School Carnival this weekend. The event takes place May 15 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. As in past year, the event features games, activities, music, entertainment, animals and lots of treats.

“The motivation behind the carnival is the same as it always was; we are passionate about fostering community spirit and creating something special for all families to enjoy,” said Sarah Hall, one of the events organizers. “We want families to come out, have fun and spend time together, but also to connect with other families and supports in the community. By making the event free for everybody, it takes that financial burden off the table and all families are just able to come and enjoy it.”

Last year MPS parents held the carnival inside the Ray McDonald Sports Center during the annual St. Jean Baptiste Festival; however, feedback from that event indicated families preferred having the carnival held outdoors.

“Every year we watch the businesses, community groups and volunteers young and old come together and create a day of magic for kids and families,” Hall said. “We couldn’t be more impressed or grateful to our entire town for the continuous support. We are very excited to see what families enjoy about this years’ carnival. We have some exciting new attractions to add to the ‘old fashioned penny carnival we feel that our community has come to know and love.”

The event takes place at the Morinville Public School grounds May 15 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. All are welcome to attend the free event.
