Town to hoist Treaty 6 flag on National Aboriginal Day

The 20th Annual National Aboriginal Day will be celebrated in Morinville June 21 with ceremonial drumming and the raising of the Treaty 6 flag above Town Hall on 100 Avenue.

The Town of Morinville announced last week that Council had unanimously supported a request to proclaim June 21
National Aboriginal Day in Morinville.

In recognition of National Aboriginal Day Chief Kurt Burnstick and Alexander First Nation drummers will be in attendance to perform ceremonial drumming ahead of the flag raising.

The event will take place June 21 at 9 a.m. at St. Germain Place – 10125-100 Avenue.

The public is welcome to attend.
