Tragically Hip’s final show will be simulcast at Cultural Centre

The Town of Morinville is inviting Tragically Hip fans to celebrate the musical legacy and cultural influence of the iconic band with a live simulcast presentation of the Kingston, Ontario show, the Hip’s final stop on the band’s recent Man Machine Poem tour.

The free event will take place Saturday, Aug. 20. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with the simulcast starting at 6:30 p.m. Bar service and concession will be available during the show.

“We invite Hip fans to join us at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre on this historic occasion,” said Shaun Peters, Town of Morinville Events & Culture Coordinator in a release Aug. 11. “As a community, and as Canadians, we are so proud of our rich cultural heritage. The Hip reign high on the national and international scene as a truly unique and iconic musical force. Fans of all ages have been entertained and inspired by the music of this great Canadian band. On Saturday, Aug. 20, we gather in a spirit of celebration, to share an evening of music and magic with The Tragically Hip.”

Though admission is free, seating is limited. As such, the Town is issuing wristbands Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the cultural centre customer service window.
