Jets drop one in OT

The Morinville Jets fell to the Wetaskiwin Icemen 3-2 in overtime Sunday night, their fourth OT loss in eight outings. Sunday’s point gives the Jets eight points this season and a 2-2-4 record.

The Jets were scoreless against Wetaskiwin in the opening frame but dominated the next 20 minutes with a pair of goals, one on the powerplay.

Lee Gadoury picked up the first from Dean Jones with 8:17 left, and
Scott Woloshyn got his powerplay pocket from Jason Morgan and Brett Dubuc with 4:06 left on the clock.

Though it was looking like the Jets win with a lead of one throughout the final period, Wetaskiwin got the goal they needed with a minute left in the game to drive it to overtime. Wetaskiwin got the OT goal they needed at 1:22.

The Jets play Leduc Friday on the road and return home to face the Bruins Sunday at 6:45 p.m.
