The Morinville Best Christmas Lights Competition was judged by residents and staff of Aspen House on Thursday, Dec. 8. Best Lights were evaluated based on a five-point system in the categories of window, rooftop, yard and overall presentation. See the winners here.

Chamber picks its winners

The Morinville & District Chamber of Commerce held their annual awards ceremony Wednesday afternoon at the Morinville Community Cultural Centre. Awards were presented in 11 categories. Additionally, a number of long service awards were presented ranging from five to 45 years of membership. More than 200 business owners and employees attended the special luncheon. Rotary receives its District Governor

On Wednesday morning the guests at the Rotary breakfast meeting included Laura Morie, District Governor Rotary International District 5370, Brad Mastaler District Assistant Governor and incoming Assistant Governor Jason Svenningsen.

Morie made a presentation to the group on Rotary Serving Humanity.

In 2016-17 the Rotary Foundation turns 100, and she said today our organization is at a critical point, a historic juncture that will determine in so many ways what comes next.
Morie said the Rotary Foundation received the highest possible score from Charity Navigator with a rating of 100.

Quoting from Paul Harris Morie said if Rotary is to realize its proper destiny it must be evolutionary at all times and revolutionary on occasions.

The Morinville Public School Early Childhood Services (ECS) Christmas Concert was held twice on Monday, once in the afternoon and once in the evening. Grades 2-4 held their concerts on Tuesday. See more photos here.
